Last Exit from Brooklyn

*** I came from a tough Brooklyn neighborhood:

Other kids played jump rope---we played jump bail.

We played spin the hypodermic needle.

We used to steal hubcaps from moving cars.

We played hopscoth with real scotch.

Other kids played 'Pin the Tail on the Donkey'---our game Pin the Charge on the Flunky!

We played Hangman with a real rope.

When we played Hide'n'Seek if the kid found us we demanded to see a bench warrant.

We played Stickup Ball.

We weren't Bar Mitzvahed---we became "made men".

We only had one quiet little Italian restaurant. The manager made the hitmen use silencers.
