Life: A Marx Bros-Monty Python Co-Production

Anyone inclined to take up the art of Stand-Up comedy, need only read the newspapers, and often find material already written and just ripe for the pickin's.
Take, for example, this item from the newspaper of may 29, 2007--'Ontario police are looking for a man , who on three separate occasions approached women and asked that they kick him in the balls'.
Now, this raises some interesting speculation--Was he testing to see if he had the same comic potential that has made Ben Stiller a comic force to be reckoned with? Trying to make it as a soprano with the Metropolitan Opera?
Yet another story tells of an actual Reality TV Show in some European nation--the premise? An old man is dying and there are three people desperately waiting for a liver transplant from him--these three must vie--I can't imagine how-- to be the winner of the life-saving organ.
I guess there's some meager consolation in the fact that we haven't in America--yet-- sunken to this nadir.

The European reality show is called, "So You Think You Want A Liver?" and the premise goes something like this -
There's three judges including a washed-up, half-bagged ex cheerleader, a has-been 50 year old record promoter who tries to talk like Fifty Cent, but comes off sounding more like...Ludicrous...and a Brit son of a bitch who doesnt like ANYBODY but his banker.

Each week features contestants picked on the shade of their jaundice. The more yellow you are the better your chances and so the fun begins.

Contestants are voted for or against by telephone calls from the nations bartenders until only one remains who wins the liver.

Runners up get a guest star shot on "House", where true to form, the crack medical team will try to cure the liver disease with cardio paddles.

It is loosely based on the British version entitled, "You Want Onions With That?"

--- Having said that, you're right. It's an all time low in - entertainment???

Do give you an idea of how crazy our times are, I REALLY don't know if you're kidding or not!!
My mind portends a dire future when comedy dies because it can no longer top reality
